Don Imus: ‘I’ve apologized enough’ (From CNN.com)
Posted by Daniel under Current events
Don Imus is done apologizing, according to a CNN.com article. “I’m not going to go talk to Larry King or Barbara Walters or anyone else,” Imus said on his radio show. “It gets said. Kids get hurt,” he said. “At some point — I’m not sure when — I’m going to go talk to the [Rutgers women’s basketball] team and that’s all I’m interested in doing.”
His remarks against the team, which were insensitive, racist and cruel, spurred MSNBC to drop its simulcast of “Imus in the Morning”.
This isn’t the first time he’s done something stupid on the air. He’s made silly remarks against Jews, Hispanics and blacks in the past.
Thing is, Don Imus isn’t even relevant anymore. His days are pretty much over. As soon as Howard Stern became syndicated in 1986 for the first time, Imus was on the decline. Now, Imus is just another shock jock. He’s no better than Opie and Anthony, who in 2002 were fired from WNEW in New York for getting a couple to have sex in St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
If you’re looking for something different on the air, I recommend “Mike and Mike in the Morning” on ESPN Radio.
