Tidbit of the Day: What is your blog worth?
Posted by Daniel under Tidbit of the Day
In a blog post on The Hot Iron, Mike Maddaloni praised this new bit of Technorati API after he calculated how much his blog could potentially be worth, and he wasn’t disappointed.
Inspired by this, I checked it out myself. Evidently, DanielHonigman.com is worth a bit of money:

My blog is worth $73,390.20.
How much is your blog worth?
Curious, I then plugged in the URL of my personal Vox site. I knew it’d be higher, because I figured that the widget is probably powered by Technorati’s authority score. As of this posting, my personal site, because of Vox’s generous backlink campaigns, is 561, ranking me the 5,261st most backlinked blog on Technorati. (DanielHonigman.com has an authority score of 130, ranking it around 37K)
Take a look at what backlinking can do for you:

My blog is worth $247,268.52.
How much is your blog worth?
Here are the calculated values of some blogs I read:
Kinetic Loop: $10,161.72
South Side Star: $27,097.92
TimSpangler.com: $12,419.88
Community Spark: $71,132.04
Gary Lee: $24,275.22
Gapers Block: $234,848.64
Todd Andrlik: $382,758.12
John Chow = $2,698,501.20
Boing Boing: $13,035,793.14
I suggest taking a look at this bit of API for yourself. Plug your site in, see what it’s worth, and comment here on this post! Cheers.
