Tidbit of the Day: Will Smith to direct ‘Karate Kid’ remake; son, Jackie Chan to co-star

This is crazy-talk.
According to several reports, actor/director Will Smith will direct a remake of the 1984 film The Karate Kid.
Word is that Smith’s son, Jaden will play the role of Daniel Larusso, which was originally played by Ralph Macchio (he probably won’t be named Larusso). The kicker: Martial-arts film star Jackie Chan will be Mr. Miyagi, who was originally played by the late Pat Morita.
